Our Craftsmanship & Manufacturing Process | Leather Taboo
Handmade, From Hide to Finished Garment
Leather Taboo products are manufactured in Karachi, Pakistan, where our team of leather artisans builds each piece using traditional garment-leather techniques. We are a United States-based brand (Ashburn, Virginia) serving customers across the USA and worldwide, with manufacturing based in Karachi.
How a Leather Taboo Product Is Made
1. Material Selection
Every design starts with choosing the right leather — cowhide for structure, sheepskin for softness — along with matching hardware, lining, and thread. See our Materials & Quality page for detail on how we select hides.
2. Pattern Cutting
Panels are cut to the garment's pattern, accounting for the natural character of each hide so that the finished piece is balanced and properly proportioned. Custom orders are cut to the customer's own measurements rather than a standard size block.
3. Hand Stitching & Assembly
Panels are assembled by hand, with reinforced stitching at stress points — seams, straps, and hardware attachment points — and lining fitted for comfort against the skin.
4. Quality Check & Finishing
Before a product ships, it's checked against the intended measurements, stitching, and hardware function. Custom orders are checked against the specific measurements and design details the customer requested.
Custom Manufacturing
Because production happens in-house, we can build to a customer's own measurements and design preferences rather than only offering fixed sizing. If you want a piece built to your specifications — sizing, leather type, color, or hardware — start on our Custom Order page.
Our Quality Commitment
We aim for long-term relationships with our customers built on consistent quality and clear communication about what a product is made from and how it's built. If a product arrives with a construction issue, our Refund Policy and Contact page outline how to reach us.
